Videos & Guides

Here’s a preview of a few of the 60+ videos and games that are the basis of the Step by Step Soccer beginner / recreational soccer curriculum. Parent and volunteer coaches use these videos and guides to teach young players the simple games that are the building blocks for a solid foundation of technical development.

These videos are made so that you can see them on your phone (or computer / tablet) with a guide to help you remember the game, the steps and the coaching points. Videos are between 1 & 2 minutes long.

The curriculum is arranged by club or team.

Under the Team tab on the upper grey nav bar, games are arranged by the week, with each week focusing on one skill:

Under each of those topics are games that teach that skill.  See the “Team” page for more info. on how to organize your session and use the games to teach a topic.

The “Club” page organizes the games so your club age groups can train together — either years 1 & 2  or 3 & 4, and by session. So under the 1st and 2nd year menu you’ll find the games that each dribbling, like this:

Year 1 & 2: Dribbling
• Everybody’s It!
• Me & My Shadow
• Get the Duck
• Knockout

Then under the technical menu you’ll find these video reviews of the technical basics of dribbling for speed (running with the ball) and dribbling to beat a defender. The volunteer or parent coaches watch these videos before they show players how to play whatever game they’re coaching in that session.

Use the “Trial” option to see the alternatives.  It’s a well thought out and tested way to help parent and volunteer coaches teach soccer right.  It’s how you play the game.
